Award Win Announcement: Celebrating Excellence in Heritage Restoration
We are incredibly proud to announce that we have been awarded the 2025 Master Builder – Commercial or Public Sector of the Year Project Award.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for our team and highlights the success of a truly remarkable project — the major refurbishment of a disused 1930s cinema, now transformed into a vibrant, multi-purpose cultural venue.
The project brought new life to a historic building, carefully balancing restoration with modern functionality. The venue now features a diverse range of spaces, including a 4,000-seat auditorium, an ornate ballroom, a cabaret bar, and a selection of intimate private areas — all thoughtfully restored to reflect the theatre’s original character.
This was not without its challenges. The extensive works required the removal and replacement of 90% of the existing floor structure, all while preserving the building’s core integrity. Through exceptional craftsmanship, innovative technical problem-solving, and strong collaboration with stakeholders, the team delivered an outstanding result.
The finished venue stands as a beautifully restored landmark — honouring its heritage while creating a dynamic space for the community’s cultural future.
